Girl's day...

Some of my friends from Dental Hygiene school came to Provo to see Betsy and me this weekend. Gina flew in from Georgia just for the event, and Erin drove down with her daughter Kenley from Boise. We had so much fun all day, from the morning until late into the night...here's how our day went:

First, Erin came over Saturday morning and we visited while the babies took naps. Gina and Bets went hiking, then brought us yummy lunch from Cafe Rio. Here's Bets with the babies:
Aunt Gina brought Gracious (what she calls her) a birthday gift...her first Cabbage Patch Kid, straight from the patch! Gina picked her out at the Cabbage Patch factory, which is in Georgia. Her name is Kailee Gretchen, her birthday is December 13th, (I have her birth certificate if you don't believe me), and Grace loves her already. Here's the girls together. I hadn't seen Gina for over 3 years, since graduation!: I showed them the wonderfulness of the Sweet Tooth Fairy bakery. Pretty sure they loved it as much as Jared and I always do. We sat in the cute bakery and ate our cupcakes while old fashioned music played...loved it!
Would a girl's-day-out be complete without pedicures? We didn't think so...Betsy and I chose the glitter toes, Erin And Gina chose their own lovely colors. A guy did my pedicure, and he wasn't the most gentle. Several times I'd look over at the other girls and my eyes were watering because his little filing tool drew blood! Then he sprayed alcohol on the wound, to make things better. It was a battle, but I love how my toes look now. Betsy and Gina both mouthed the words, "Pain is Beauty" at separate times during my ordeal. :) After the pedicures we walked around the mall and wondered...What else is a typical thing to do during a girl's outing at the mall? Dress up and take sassy pictures of course!
Gina was impersonating Kanye taking Taylor Swift's microphone...."yo, yo Taylor, I'm gonna let you finish...."

A few minutes into our walk around the mall Erin and I noticed that our babies were stinky and needed changed ASAP. The aunties decided they were up for the challenge and took the babies to the changing room. Erin and I were shopping and realized they'd been gone a long time...I just figured they had some sort of messy disaster, but low and behold they show up 20 minutes later with these beauties:Classic. Camera booth photos with your crazy aunts! :) I love that the babies look a little terrified, and the "I love boys" at the top.

After the mall we took a break to drop off the sleepy babies, then headed to delicious Goodwood for dinner. A chick-flick was next on the list of girl's-night-out necessities, so we went to "Love Happens", which ended up being really dumb, but we had fun anway. I'll never forget Gina reading her book during the movie by the light of her cell phone, hilarious. We ended our day with some good ol' Spoon Me frozen yogurt. It was such a fun day with some of my favorite ladies. I can't wait to do it again soon, and maybe some of our other DH women can join us.
(we hate goodbyes!)

I never kept the names that came with the cabbage patch dolls. I had to have my own name. It was MY baby after all. ha.
