2014 June 25th, Grace broke her arm

Grace was at a gymnastics camp at Elevate on June 25th, when she climbed on top of a large wooden box, only to fall directly on the concrete below, landing elbow first. I didn't see it happen, but another couple did and told me how bad it was. Grace kind of whimpered in the car, but nothing serious. The more we drove toward our house, the louder her cries got, especially if we went over any kind of bump. I realized it was serious and called my parents. My mom answered and said my dad was at the hospital working, and to take Grace there. I took Grace to my dad, she wouldn't let him touch her elbow. He said we might as well get it x-rayed. We took her down to get x-rays and sure enough, it was fractured. It was close to a growth plate, so they determined that surgery was the best route. Poor little lady. She was in SO much pain, it was really hard to watch. She really is so tough. Rarely cries about anything, so I knew it was not pleasant for her.

Anesthesiologist explaining what he was going to do:

Coming out of anesthesia. She was so so so sad.
They put a soft cast on her arm.

Coming home to gifts from friends...

A few days later we came back to get a hard cast, after the swelling had gone down. Grace picked pink and purple. Here she is with Dr. Millar, her Dr. and surgeon.

He put some fancy pins in her elbow!

Grandma McMillan invited the girls over for lunch, they made faces out of food. So fun.
