Day three: Beach day!

Day three:
We were so excited to take the girls to the beach for the first time. We found the Newport Pier that we had gone to on our honeymoon, we knew it was a good beach. Walking from our car to the beach the girls were eating crackers. Grace decided to feed the pigeons, so she scattered a handful of crackers on the ground. All of the sudden SO MANY pigeons were flocking to the stroller! Lots of passer-bys stopped to watch these crazy kids feed the birds. :)
First we walked out onto the pier and looked at the ocean. I was a pretty paranoid mom, I'll be honest. Grace kept climbing up to the top of the railing like she wanted to jump!

Grace was fascinated with the ocean.
Lucy didn't care much about the ocean, she was fascinated with the birds.

Running after those birds...
In the beginning I told Grace to stand up, don't touch the sand with her hands and just put her toes in the water...

staying clean isn't really Gracie's style.

We looked over at Gracie at one point and she had her head down in the sand, rubbing her hair in it as waves crashed into her. My "keep clean" hopes went out the window! We decided to let her just go for it. She loved running into the waves.
After cleaning off a bit, we met up with Jared's parents and Kiley and Eric who had just flown in. We went to Ruby's Diner at the end of the pier for lunch, like we had during our California trip before. So fun.
After Ruby's we decided to do a little shopping so we headed to the Block at Orange mall. We had a wonderful, relaxing day!
