Thanksgiving Part One: St. George!

This Thanksgiving we had so much to be thankful for. We got a week long Thanksgiving celebration...who wouldn't be thankful for that?! I've listed just a few of the many things we were thankful for from our week:

We're thankful for the beginning of a wonderful family trip with the Jones family. A nice stop at Cove Fort on the way down to St. George. We toured the fort and learned a lot about the history, which was really interesting.

We're thankful for the beauty of the earth! The drive up Snow Canyon was absolutely amazing. We got out of the cars and went for a little walk up the paved paths. We want to go biking there someday.

Isn't the red rock so beautiful?
We're thankful for dinosaurs! :)
We visited the Dinosaur Discovery Museum and saw real dinosaur tracks that were millions of years old! It was fascinating and very educational. It really made me more thankful for dinosaurs and for the archeologists who are able to identify a "tail track" :) (Looks like a line in the mud to me!).
We're thankful for delicious food...especially Pirate Pizza! This restaurant was so much fun, and not just for the little kids, I was lovin' every minute.
(We're pirates, if you couldn't guess:)
We played all sorts of arcade games, the favorite being "Deal or No Deal".
All the scallywags at Pirate Pizza:
We're so thankful for the peace and beauty of the St. George temple. We got to go with Jared's brother, sister and their spouses one morning. It was lovely. I'd never been there before and had always wanted to. And on that note, I'm very thankful for willing babysitters :)
We're thankful for having FUN with our family! We got to go to Fiesta Fun center and pretty much had the place to ourselves. We rode go carts, bumper boats, played mini-golf, hit at the driving range and batting cages, jumped at the bounce house, and had so much fun together like we always do.
Gracie loved just running around in the sunny, warm weather.

Jared did well at mini-golf and tore it up at the driving range! Pretty sure he hit balls over the fence a few times along with Eric and Chad. They hit them so far!! I, on the other hand, need a little more practice.
After a few fun days in St. George playing at the timeshare, eating at delicious restaurants, shopping, and doing all sorts of wonderful things, we headed to LAS VEGAS for a few days only to do more of the same! More on that later!

Looks like you had a great time in your old hometown, Abby. Even though you left there when you were one year old, the red cliffs are still in your blood. Fun place to visit!

So glad you had fun in good 'ol St. George! Only thing that would have made it better would be to visit your good friend, Val! :) I just read your msg on my blog...no worries, it was a busy weekend for both of us and I completely understand! Can't wait to hear about the "Vegas" part of the trip!

last time we were at an arcade I'm pretty sure we played deal or no deal the whole time--happy to hear it was your favorite too!

It was fun to see you guys!
