a new stage, a harvest dinner and some fall leaves.

We found a new use for the benches in our sunroom. They make a great stage!
The curtains are perfect for opening for big dance performances.
Or in Lucy's case "Itsy Bitsy Spider" vocal arrangements.
Gracie loved for me to say, "Introducing! Grace......Della......JONES!" Then she'd open the curtains (very dramatically), and do her best Nutcracker Suite ballet.
I forsee many talent shows happening on our newly discovered stage!

On Saturday we had our 2nd annual Harvest Dinner. We invite our family who lives in town over for a night of our favorite fall foods. The menu this year was butternut squash soup in a breadbowl, pear walnut salad, apple cider punch, gingersnaps dipped in pumpkin dip, and pumpkin gingerbread trifle.
 The wild kid table:
 And the baby table:
The Harvest dinner is a fun tradition I'm excited to keep up. Fall food is my favorite, so I am happy for the excuse to make it! The guys were happy to watch football as soon as the meal was done and the girls had fun chatting.

We have 1 billion leaves on the ground, and 1 billion dead ones on our trees out front waiting to fall.
It is a daunting task, raking them all.
So instead, Jared borrowed a blower and blew them into a big pile in front of our front door and let the kids play with them.
Lucy does everything that Gracie does, as you can tell:

 I spy a 3 year old:
Much more fun than raking them!

I wish I was your neighbor so I could watch the performances from "backstage!" :)

Those soup bowls look delightful! I love that blogs exist because otherwise I would miss out on watching your girls grow up.

Nice performances. (The world is a stage, btw.)

Good use of fab table.

That is a fabulous non-camo coat in which to play in leaves!

I love Gracie's coat! It is so cute to see little Lucy being her little shadow. And what a fun fall tradition, the menu sounded delish!
