I saw this skirt not long ago and thought it was really cute. I love colorful pencil skirts and they seem to be everywhere these days.
I decided that it wouldn't be so hard to refashion an old skirt into a cute pencil skirt.
So off to the D.I I went! $3 for this old coral wool skirt from the '70's.
I just put my favorite pencil skirt on top of the old '70's skirt and traced it. I sewed on the line I traced and trimmed the excess fabric off. Voila! New pencil skirt. I really like how it turned out (the sides look funny in the picture but it looks pretty normal in person). Wore it to church on Sunday....
I'm sold on this whole refashioning thing! It's so exciting thinking of all the possibilities when I walk into the D.I. :)

love!! AND I'm loving the song that starts playing when I log into your blog (I'm thinking it should go on a Spin playlist)
Seriously adorable. WIsh I could pull off that look! You look so cute!
It's so cute Abby!!! I have a few skirts I've wanted to do that to--maybe now that school has started I'll get around to it :0)!
Good work, friend!
I miss the DI. Goodwill is so irritating. They sort everything by color, so you have to dig through 800 black shirts to find a cute one that MIGHT be in your size. Plus all the pants are the same price, all the shirts are the same price, all the shoes are the same price, etc. It makes it hard to find a really good thrifting deal!
Love this, the color is perfect. It sounds like something that maybe I could even do :) You really can pull off anything though, way to go!
you are gorgeous and so talented!! i love that skirt!
