trip to Logan

Our Logan get-away:
I took Grace and Lucy to Logan for a few days last week to visit their cousins.
It was just what we needed to lighten up our winter blues. Lots of cousin/sister time! Jenny's husband Spencer was out of town on business so she was happy for us to come stay. They are living at Spencer's parent's house right now while their house is being built. We went to see the progress on their new house and it's looking really nice! They have a beautiful view of the valley and the mountains. We made sure that there will be a guest suite in their new house, just for us :)

Some highlights of our trip:
SWIMMING! Gracie is a fish. She absolutely loved it and was a little too confident with her life jacket on.
It was a little crazy with six kids in the pool and two adults, but we managed to have a blast!
Finally seeing the movie "Tangled". Jenny and her family are HUGE fans (they've seen it four times!) and couldn't wait to take us. I think it might be my new favorite. I laughed hard, and shed some tears, I'll be honest. LOVED it, and so did Gracie.
Ready to watch! Thank heavens for ring pops and popcorn, otherwise I'm not sure my busy two year old would have sat the entire time. I'm glad she did, because it was the cutest show ever.
Lucy got some MAJOR cousin lovin' while we were there. The kids fought over who could hold her, snuggle her, make her laugh, breath her air....they thought she was the cat's meow!
And she definitely loved them right back!
Gracie loves her Crew and Ruby. They play so well together...though they were very mischievous, (lotion rubbed in each other's hair, an entire towel stuffed down the toilet, a broken plate, etc. etc. etc.) but at least they were having fun while doing it all, right?
The cutie kids in their jammies. Lucy had had it by the time this picture was taken, she was ready for bed!
I took her out of her bumbo, laid her on the bed for two seconds, and she was OUT! So cute....
One night Jen and I decided to get some Indian food, which we both LOVE! We heard the best Indian restaurant in Logan was one that was hooked onto a Sinclair gas station! We tried it out (which ended up being pretty convenient, since my gas tank was empty...) and sure enough it was delicious! Sooo yummy.

Kids don't appreciate Indian food. So they got mac and cheese, which they were totally thrilled with.
We had such a fun time, and can't wait to go back to Logan soon. I told Jenny to send me a bill for all of the damage Gracie did to the house though. :) And I swear that Brady and Avery (Jen's older two kids) were there too, I just didn't get a picture of them!

Jared missed us big time while we were gone. We've been watching movies and hanging out every night to make up for it :) a couple of nights ago we watched the movie Matilda. Those of you who have seen it know that there is this scene where Bruce Bogtrotter is called up in front of the whole school to eat a divine looking chocolate cake. Jared had never seen this show, so when that scene came on I warned him that the cake looks so very yummy, and he's going to want some when he sees it. Sure enough, the next night we HAD to make one! We found this recipe on a blog, and it's seriously one of the best cakes we've ever had!

Gracie and I have been gearing up for Valentine's Day this past week. We decorated the house in hearts and even made a LOVE monster, with a mouth big enough to fit valentines and love notes inside!
