We just got back from a nice, relaxing four day weekend in Utah.
Jared took a few days off and we had our first get-away since Lucy was born! Isn't it amazing how much STUFF you have to pack when going anywhere with a newborn and 2 year old? It's a little crazy. The reason for our trip south was for my Grandma's fun family Christmas party on Saturday. We had a dinner at her house, and got to see lots of relatives we don't see very often. Gracie got to play with her cousins, which she still asks, "Where's Ruby Mom?" She loves cousin time, and Grandma great who gives her all the candy and pop she can eat!
That night, we were some of the LUCKY few who got to see the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas concert featuring David Archuleta! We got tickets a few days earlier, thanks to these two....
We had such a great time with our friends, and were totally blown away by the concert. It was perfect...and let me just tell you, David can belt it! He definitely brought tears to my eyes a few times.
We had to take Lucy with us, since we'd be gone for a few hours, and she doesn't take a bottle.
My Mom volunteered to be the Temple Square babysitter. It was so nice. She took Lucy to see the sights while we were in the concert. She even documented Lucy's night....
"Lucy's night at Temple Square"
Here they are in front of the Nativity...

And finally...Lucy looking at all the temple square lights:
I'm pretty sure she loved every minute of her night in the big city with Grandma! We couldn't have had a better time, and are so grateful to have been able to go.
The next day we went to church with my parents and Grandma. We put the girls in their Christmas dresses and got ONE picture before they both had meltdowns....lucky:
They looked so cute and festive. We tried to get a family picture, but the girls were pretty done by then:
We had such a fun weekend with family and friends, and even got most of our last minute Christmas shopping done. Going shopping in Orem made us grateful to live in little ol' Burley (Utah county is CRAZZZY busy). After our little trip we're fully in the Christmas spirit and are so excited for this coming weekend!
We stayed in a hotel while in Utah, and the girls took their first bath together (ours at home doesn't work so they have to bathe in our kitchen sink)...
I had to document it, of course. They were both laughing and splashing...so cute:
