Happy One Month Lucy!

Little Lucy was born one month ago yesterday. I decided to continue the monthly picture-by-the-kitty tradition to track her growth, like I did for Gracie....pretty cute if you ask me!
here's Gracie's one month picture to compare...I think they are looking more alike these days.
We have discovered that Lucy is kind of a colicky baby. She has good days and she has bad days...sometimes it's during the day, but most of the time it's just at night before bed..she just screams and screams. It's been kind of difficult, but we're figuring things out.
She's a wonderful sleeper though! She's getting to the point where she only wakes up once a night. I can definitely handle her fussiness during the day with a good night's sleep.
Her mannerisms remind us so much of Gracie. She's a binky addict, like Gracie was. When the binky comes out, her arms and legs start kicking and punching and she automatically starts crying, just like Gracie. We knew from infancy that Gracie would be really active, and that's exactly how Lucy is acting these days :)
Here is Lucy's first bath, with the help of her biggest fan, Gracie:
She didn't love it...but was oh-so cute in her mini robe!
With Lucy around, Gracie has had lots more time to herself. When I feed Lucy, Gracie wanders around the house and gets into things. I always get suspicious when it gets really quiet. She usually is found in the corner somewhere polishing off a box of crackers very silently. :) The other night I went to a relief society meeting, Jared was watching her. He said he left her alone for just a minute and came back to this:
Lovely! (Yes, that's mascara. It's rubbed in her hair and inside her ears too.)
I walked in just a couple minutes after this picture was taken, I saw Jared with a washcloth going at it and heard, "Uh-oh, Mommy!" from Gracie. She knew I wouldn't love what she did.
She is a sweetie most of the time. She got this dress for her birthday, and wore it for the first time to church today. She ran around saying, "I cute!" we think she's pretty cute too:
I need to blog about a few events that happened pre-Lucy....
One was the Jones Family outing in Oakley. Jared and I only went up one night, but had such a fun time like we always do at that reunion. It's the entire extended Jones family...100 people! (Kiley's baby is number 100!) We played games and got to see some awesome talents at the talent show. Our talent was minute-to-win-it, which was fun.
Here's the fam minus Kiley, Eric and Kinsley:
p.s. horizontal stripes are not the most flattering on a 9 month pregnant lady. Just so you know.

Kiley came into town, so we got to take another pregnancy picture! The three of us were all pregnant with girls in 2008 (Gracie, Kinsley and Claire). We found out we were all pregnant with little girls once again in 2010!
Here is Kiley, Abby and Jenn in 2008
And here we are this summer! We think it's funny when people ask if we planned it. I can tell you: NO we did not. :) I was due August 20th, Kiley was supposed to have her baby today! (Congrats to you guys!! Can't wait to hear about it!) and Jenn is due at the first of November.
Then there was the famous Burley fair and rodeo! We loved being here for all of it, even though I was totally uncomfortable and hugely pregnant...I went to the fair to walk around and try to induce labor on my due date, but nothing happened. Instead, we just saw many, many people we knew who all had some comment like, "You are STILL pregnant!?"
Gotta love it.
Gracie and I went to the parade just a couple of blocks away from our new house. We met our Jones cousins there! So fun!
They even handed out old nasty, used stuffed animals. Woo-hoo! Gracie was really super excited about this Elmo she got at the parade...(only in Idaho, right?)
mysteriously, Elmo disappeared a couple days after this picture :)

We had such a wonderful, eventful summer. Now on to fall! We can't wait...

One month already? Wow! Time sure flies. I love that picture of Gracie in her new dress. She really is so cute! Good luck with the colicky-ness. What a relief she still sleeps well though.

Who plans things like that? And even if you did, it's not like you could plan all girls two times in a row. People are funny.

Looks like life in Burley is treating you guys well.

Lucy is so cute. It will be interesting once she's older and out of the newborn look if she'll still look like Gracie. Remember how we all thought Gracie looked like Jared way more when she was little, but now I totally see you way more in her. I wonder if that will happen with Lucy.

Love those cute girls! And, I love that the kitty has a little tuft of stuffing coming out of his tail! She is well loved! :)
And, I've already told you this, but I think Lucy totally has your Disney-princess eyes. So sweet.
