Happy 18 months Grace!

A year and a half!
SO old. So grown-up. She's like a little person now, not a baby. She's got a silly little personality, is the busiest child I've ever met (maybe because I'm the one chasing her around all day), and still loves to eat. Whenever she sees a camera, she yells, "cheese!" and makes this face:
Jared and I laugh every time. How could you not take a picture of that face?
Some of my favorite words/phrases she says are: "C'mon mom!" (as she grabs my hand), "flower", "there ya go!", "thank you", "bless you" (after a sneeze or cough), "car...vroom-vroom", "tall tall tall" (snowman song), "all done!", "c'mon duckies!" (she says over and over when we're at the duck pond), "Dada! Whe' aaaa you?" (when we pick him up from school), we always have her say her animal noises, they're so cute, and we love hearing her count to three at random times throughout the day. She constantly surprises us with the words she knows.

Things about 18 month old Gracie Della:
  • she loves to stand up by the bathroom sink and run her fingers under the water. She'll put the water in her hair like Mom does, then says "Pitttty!" (pretty). She always has to help me do my makeup too. Very girlie.
  • she can't get enough of her Elmo friend. We have 3 different movies and Jared and I have all of them memorized. I love watching her face light up when her favorite parts come on.
  • Still loves our cell phones. All day she'll walk around with them and has the same conversation....,"He-wow? Yaaaaaaahhh......Bu-bye!"
  • She's a good dancer these days, the other night at my sister's birthday party we were playing musical chairs and every time the music came on she'd sing at the top of her lungs and dance around everybody! It was too cute.
  • When she hears a noise, any noise, she looks surprised and says, "What's dat?"
  • She loves DIP! I've given her chicken nuggets with ketchup...I have to MAKE her take a bite, she'd just suck the dip off every time if I didn't.
  • She loves reading books and singing songs. If she's upset about something we can usually calm her down with either one of those things. Jared and I love to get out the Primary Songbook and sing her songs from it.
I love watching Jared and Gracie. They have a special daddy/daughter bond. Multiple times throughout the day Jared will look at me and say, "I just love Gracie." (usually after she does something super cute). I love it. We were definitely blessed with a silly, emotional, sweet, happy little girl that we love more than anything.

That cheese picture is classic--so cute. We are definitey loving this stage. They're little sponges and are learning so much so quickly. I had to laugh about the DIP, because Nixon is a dip lover too. Yesterday I gave him chicken nuggets and he kept yelling,"Dip, dip, dip!!" until I gave him some--I give hummus a lot of the time and he loves it!

Aw, I loooove Gracie. And she is sooo smart! Every time you post an update about what she is saying, Dustin starts thinking Kenley might be retarded. :)
We're planning on coming down for B's wedding... hopefully we'll all get together, no? Kenley misses Gracie.

Oh, and... K loves dip, too. Even when there is no dip. She has to pick up whatever she is eating and dip it (even on an empty plate) before she'll eat it. :)

I can't wait for Gracie to start to really talk. She will say very interesting things I'm sure like
"Let's get going. I have things to do and discover. Come on or just stand back and watch me!"
