Celebrating our Independance....

I haven't had the internet for about a week. I feel so behind and out of the loop. It's crazy how much you depend on it every day. Multiple times I would think to myself "Oh--I'll just go look such-and-such up on the internet..." sit down at my computer desk, click on the firefox icon and then the realization hits that I don't have the internet. It stunk. Also, having to pay $65 for the BYU IT people to vacuum out my computer (that's ALL they did, and it started working again...) really stunk too.

Now for catching up!

Our fabulous fourth of July was spent in Idaho. I LOVE the fourth in Burley. There's always excitement, especially with both of our families there to have barbecues and firework shows. Jared's family set up a fun golf course around his backyard, amazingly, there was no improvement in my golf skills even though we did 4 rounds. Jared and his Dad beat me every time, but it was really fun...Jared and I decided we want to get into golfing. At the Jones family cook-out (they call it a cook-out, not a barbecue). They bought LOTS of fireworks, even some top-secret ones that flew into the air!!(which meant lots of exciting oooo's and aaaahhh's from the audience). Jared and the guys were getting really excited about trying to figure out ways to light off multiple fireworks at the same time without getting hit in the face as they exploded. Nice. :)
Here's the crowd of spectators:On the morning of the fourth, we got to go to Harris pond for Jared's parent's delicious ward breakfast. Gracie looked cute in her festive dress. Gracie loves America.

We spent the day with my parents and got to see my brother Scott's family. That night we got to put Gracie to bed and go on a hot date to the Burley firework show. We got all settled into a killer spot right next to the river. We were so excited, until the misquotes started to attack. We got eaten alive for a few minutes, then the fireworks started...we could only hear them from where we were sitting! They were right behind this big cluster of trees! We skedaddled out of there, got some frozen yogurt at Maverick's and ended up watching the show from our car in the parking lot. :) We actually ended up having a perfect view of the show, and got a delicious frozen treat! Perfect. Here we are before we realized we couldn't see the show: Finally, this week my friends and I threw a baby shower for our friend Brittany. She's due next month and looks so great! The shower ended up being so cute...It was baseball themed, so we decorated with pennants, mitts, a scoreboard and baseball memorabilia. The food was adorable, her mother-in-law made the cutest baby hamburgers and hot-dogs! We had fun putting it together, and I can't wait to meet her sweet little baby.

Man, I've done so good at keeping prego pictures at bay. Crap. haha. Gracie looks adorable in her dress. Also, let us know when you want to go golfing, it's our favorite activity. I want to go right now! ha.

FYI.. the south calls it a "cook-out" as well because barbecue sauce is not involved... it is ONLY called a "barbecue" when there is sauce. I can't believe my dad bought fireworks... when we were little he complained about buying them. He'd always say, "Lighting fireworks is just like burning money." (party pooper)

watch out for hubbies/kids/fireworks. Chad had cam and spencer holding the flower fireworks, lighting them and then telling them to throw them just before they went off. Not too bright!!! Made this momma mad when I realized what they were doing. duh!! cute baby shower too.

So Patriotic....I want to stand up and sing The Star Spangled Banner. I love Gracie's flag picture. It should be on the cover of some magazine.
