flashback friday: ode to my mama.

For my flashback Friday, I picked this picture of my Mom and me in honor of Mother's Day. I have the most amazing mother. Of all of the people I have ever met, she is the person I want to be like most. Here are just a couple of the millions of reasons why:
  • She is the most Christlike person I know. I can honestly say I don't remember her saying an unkind word or gossiping about anybody. She consistently has an eternal perspective and has her priorities in order, and because of that she gives the best advice! She has a very strong testimony that is apparent in the way she lives and treats people.
  • She is driven and always does an amazing job in whatever she puts her mind to. She works hard. When I was in grade school she went back to college to become a teacher, which now she puts her whole heart into and does an amazing job. She just finished her Masters Degree last month. She goes the extra mile in any church calling she has, and not to mention is the BEST mom anyone could ask for.
  • She is such a great example in how she lives her life. I have so much to learn from her. One thing I really admire is how well she takes care of herself, she's so healthy! She exercises all the time and is in better shape than I am. It's crazy how well she eats, not because of losing weight, but because it makes her feel good and knows it's the right thing to do. Growing up, I would grumble and complain about whole-wheat cookies made with honey or lasagna made with zucchini, but I am so grateful for the knowledge of health she instilled in us.
  • Growing up, she was probably my best friend. She's so fun! When I was little she always took the time to play a game with me, teach me a science project or do some artwork or a craft. Now she always takes the time to talk to me about what's going on in my life, and supports me in everything. She still will play a game or do art with me too :)
I love my mom so much, and I'm so grateful for her and all she's done for me. She is so awesome, and hope she knows it!

I also have the greatest mother-in-law. She is incredible and has been so amazing to me in the past few years that I've been part of her family. She is a great example and I have so much to learn from her. She is a hard worker and does such an amazing job in everything she does. She makes everybody feel happy when we're around her. I am grateful for you too, Bonnie! I really am such a lucky girl to have two moms that I love so much :)
Happy Mother's Day!!

So sweet. Love Mother's Day posts. Uh... Gracie doesn't look a whole lot like you. Now that I've seen a baby picture of you, I'm even more convinced that she looks like Jared.

Your Mom is amazing! I remember how we were all hungry after swimming and she had grapes and nuts that she shared with us as a healthy snack! You are such a sweet kind person Abby and after meeting your Mom I could see where you get that from : )
