It's a miracle!

For any of you who know me, you know that I have been a life-long nail chewer. Even when I really tried to quit the non-chewing only lasted a few weeks at the most. Sad, but it's always been that way. Until NOW! Since I've gotten braces I physically CAN'T chew my nails anymore. Plus with the pregnancy my nails are so strong they don't break! It's a miracle. I hope it lasts because I'm loving it. And so is Jared! :) back scratches without nails just don't compare.
Also, I'm pretty sure in the past week my belly has really started growing! Jared and the girls at work have noticed a little pooch throughout the day, and pointed out that they can see it now. I still feel like I'm in the "I just look fat" phase, but I'm ok with it. Here I am at 20 weeks!! Half way!! This weekend was a very exciting event...my older sister and her son were baptized! It was such a wonderful day for them, and for all of us. The spirit was so strong and we all couldn't be happier for them. I hadn't been to a baptism in a really long time, it was fun to remember my own and all of the feelings I had on that day. The gospel is such a beautiful thing! Happy Mother's Day to all mothers and future mothers out there! Jared was a sweetie and made dinner for me (the picture shows him hard at work). He also got me a cute potted flower and a nice card with one of his famous poems in it :) . Today was a little more special for me this year, with the baby on the way, but it's also fun thinking I'll be a real mom by next Mother's day! I can't wait. During dinner Jared and I talked about the (many) qualities of our own mothers that we want to emulate when we are parents. A couple of things we love about Jared's mom is her sweet nature and her organization. She has always been the nicest, sweetest person you'd ever meet. Also, if you've ever been to the Jones house, it is very clean and organized. I love being at their house because it's always peaceful and the spirit is strong. In my mom we wanted to emulate her unwavering faith and also how she always took time for her children to teach and to play. She has her priorities in order. As kids we would always find her reading her scriptures or on her knees. She also always took the time to show us a skill, a learning activity, or fun games to play. We LOVE our amazing Mother's!! Thanks for all you do for us!!

Chris always complains that my nails hurt his back. Maybe I'm a bit too aggressive with the back rubs?

The bump is cute, and what a great weekend for your family!

Congrats to the sister who was baptized!!! Also, I know what you mean with the nails and how well they grow when you're pregnant! I love being pregnant just for the long nails I get! :)

Congrats on the new nails. I bit mine until I was about 22 years old. It is such a hard habit to break but feels like such an accomplishment to see all your nails long! Way to go. Your little belly is looking so cute too. We are so happy for you guys and that growing little girl. Any names yet?

I love your nails, they look SO good! They honestly look fake. Your bump is getting cute! ALthough it is still tiny! BTW I hated the "fat" stage. I'm so happy for your sister and her family. What a neat experience. And I agree, you and Jared both have excellent mother's!

Miss Abby.
I've been in the fat stage for about 5 years now... You are NOT in the fat stage. You're in the "I just swallowed a NERF football stage." Very cute.
Congrats on the nails, and Melinda's bapism. Fun times for you guys... And, I'm so proud of Jared for making you dinner...

Abby! So, I just want you to know that I always have your blog on while I am at work so I can listen to your fabulous music playlist! I love it!
And Justin keeps talking about Jared coming over to work on a project with him?? So I was thinking you should just come on along with him and we can do something fun as well!
And your baby bump is looking so adorable! Fun!

Your baby bump is so cute! I loved that stage, your baby could still be a secret if you wanted it to. :) Your nails do look fabulous by the way. I cant believe how much your family has grown. You have more nieces and nephews than I do!
